I am a writer, and I write about many subjects as the inspiration strikes me. Last year I wrote something about time, and I thought I would post it here. Time to me is an illusion, because now is all that is real, who knows what will happen between now and tomorrow. When I was a teen ager, my Dad left to go see his mother, and I yelled goodbye, and didn't get up to give him a hug. As it turned out, I never got a chance to hug him again, he had a heart attack and died the next day, the day after his 42nd birthday. I would have given anything to hug him just one more time. I learned a valuable lesson from my Dad's untimely death. We never know if we will have another chance, so we need to say what we need to say and act like now is all we have, because in truth, all we have is right now, this minute, and how we choose to spend this moment in time determines our future, and the future cumulatively of our world. Just for Today Just for today, I want you to know That you have brought me joy And hope and love and a million other emotions All more wonderful than the other And we never really know If tomorrow is only a dream And today is all we have. So just for today Let's laugh and love and play And hold each other close Let's walk through the meadows And climb the mountains Smell every rose and flower Live life to the fullest As though there is no tomorrow Because tomorrow may be an illusion, And tomorrow today will be gone.
